Sevier County Roads & Developments

Sevier County is experiencing tremendous growth. Within the next five years, several major projects should be completed. Among those currently under construction are the Bridgemont Project (which includes the Sevierville Events Center and Wilderness Resort & Hotel) and the Dumplin Creek Development.

Along with these large scale developments comes the need for road expansion to a highway system that is already clogged during busy weekends as tourists travel from I-40 to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the Smoky Mountains through Sevierville and the Highway 66 corridor. The state has begun acquiring properties for the future expansion of Highway 66 from four lanes to six lanes in the near future. The department of transportation acquisition includes properties from Boyd’s Creek Highway (Rt. 338) to downtown Sevierville.
